ISLAMABAD, May 8, 2025Pakistan’s government has strongly condemned the recent shelling in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 5 Sikh civilians and damage to Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sahib. The incident has intensified tensions between India and Pakistan, with Islamabad calling for an international investigation into the attack.

Prime Minister Sharif Denounces Attack

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and the damage to the religious site. In a statement, he said, “The targeting of civilians and religious places is a blatant violation of international norms and human rights. Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Sikh community during this tragic time.”
